Avoiding the Holiday Bloat Boat

You spend countless hours shopping for outfits, planning your wardrobe, and dreaming about fashion perfection. You think about how envious people will be when they see. How great you look because of your wellness and lifestyle changes. But many of the special holiday foods and treats can create a serious amount of discomfort and bloat.

So how do you prevent the all too familiar holiday bloating experienced by so many of us at this time of the year?

Naturally, we as women may think, I will simply starve myself and not drink a lot of liquids for a few days before the family gatherings. If I do it this way, maybe I’ll drop a bit of weight and reduce some of that nasty cellulite on my body…right? Wrong!

Did you know that water retention is directly linked to what you eat, drink and your daily habits?

Bloating is caused primarily by dehydration. The loss of water in the body can cause constipation. And the corresponding lack of bowel movements creates the tummy bulge.

So, here are four tips to follow for a bloat-free holiday.
