What is Wholistic?

It’s the way I approach a problem. Health. Emotional well-being. Overall wellness. Everything. 360 degrees and from all angles. I look at how all areas of your life are interconnected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Do you medicate yourself with food or drugs in order to avoid something? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. I believe there is a “Spectrum” of food and other indulgences. I use a combination of lifestyle modification and behavior modification to help you make lasting changes. I support you as you take the next step along that spectrum.

It’s not always about the food.

Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as eliminating false beliefs that hold you back, achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. It’s not about taking something from you. It’s about personal growth and power. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the patterns (food and lifestyle choices) that you have built your foundation on, we will work to change the programs that no longer serve you, and develop new programs and habits that work best for you and allow you to implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.

Here are some concepts that we will explore during our work together:

Bio-individuality™: You pick your diet and lifestyle based on what does and does not work for you. The concept of bio-individuality is that each person has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s one of the reasons why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background. I use a personalized, wholistic approach to ensure that you will have great success!

Primary Food™: It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.

Fundamental Emotional Attachments: Willpower doesn’t work. You can only “brute force” yourself into doing something or staying away from something for so long. You have to establish sustainable habits.  And no discussion of food and habits would be complete without investigating your cravings, your addictions, and the foods you cannot live without. When you’ve tried every diet out there and you continue to be unable to maintain or achieve your goals, you know – it’s no longer about the food. By investigating these things, I can help you eliminate the barriers that stand in your pathway to lasting success.

Therapeutic Trifecta

Hypnosis: Together, we use hypnosis to determine the root cause, memory, or imprint that is creating the behaviors you are experiencing now. The subconscious knows the reasons you are still operating with the same old, out-dated patterns and programs. Using specific, up-to-date langauge we suggest to your subconscious new patterns and programs. When the subconscious accepts these suggestions you get real and lasting changes.

NLP: fine tunes the connection between the neurological processes (“Neuro”), language (“Lingusistic”), and behavioral patterns learned through experience (“Programming”) to achieve your goals. The creators of NLP realized that the skills of exceptional people can be “modeled” using NLP methodology and acquired by anyone.

Tapping: Tapping is used to treat a wide variety of physical and psychological issues by focusing on a single issue while tapping end points of the body’s energy meridians, such as the finger tips, areas on the face, collarbone, and wrists. Tapping helps to severe the mind’s thoughts and memories from the generation of the figh, flight, or freeze response in the body. It is immediately effective at relaxing the mind and body and can be self-administered in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

My intention

… with the first session is to provide space for you to feel safe to talk about whatever you need to. I am very good at helping you define the issue, together we will isolate the words, sounds, movies, feelings and emotions that are keeping you stuck with what you don’t want. I will look for patterns and motifs in what you tell me. I will explain a few key concepts about tapping and the mindset. I will be a creative resource to help guide you through what can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming. You WILL feel cared for, respected and supported. You will leave feeling calm and in control with a whole new resource to draw on.

My attention

… will be fully on you and your well-being. I will take notes, so you may see me look down. I’m not ignoring, I’m writing it down. =) The majority of our time together will be spent using the techniques I’ve outlined above to make the changes you want. Please always remember: Healing is a process not an event.

The problems you have did not happen overnight and it is unrealistic to believe that in one or two sessions they will be gone. We can do a lot of great work together.
